Monday started with the usual meeting. They went through the info on the patients, including Sabrina.

Meredith caught the others up with the fact that Sabrina’s night time projections were more frequent; as well as a brief summary of Sabrina’s relationship with her old boyfriend and her run in with him before the nightly projections started.

His mom gasped loudly when Meredith quoted Devon’s cruel words. The others around the table grimaced.

“What a jerk.” Neal said.

“Idiot,” Pam declared.

“Bastard.” This from Alycia.

They discussed her projections at night, and Pam and Meredith agreed to work with Sabrina on an “anchor” she could clutch at night to help keep her from projecting.

Fortunately, his sisters didn’t bring up the topic of Parker visiting her, although they knew. He had asked them to keep that fact from the rest of the staff. He was uncomfortable, afraid he’d appear unprofessional.

Which, he thought, he likely was. When he told her about his own ability—if he did, which was still a question—then that might be the time to bring up the fact he wanted a relationship with her that wasn’t strictly clinical. It was just too soon, right now.

“Now, about Evan Lassiter.” His father frowned.

Parker noticed Pam sat up straight at the guy’s name.

“I called him, and he’s refusing to meet with me,” his father said.

“I think I should handle this,” Meredith volunteered.

“I think we should wait a few weeks then you or Meredith should try again,” Neal said.

“Maybe I should try,” Parker’s mom said.

Pam said nothing, looking at her iPad, which lay on the shining wooden surface of the conference table.

“Maybe I should just go with dad and show up at his office without any notice,” Parker suggested. He was getting more irritated by Evan Lassiter. Who did he think he was anyway?

“Then we might waste a trip for nothing,” his father pointed out. “Besides, that’s not professional.”

They discussed it for several minutes before concluding that Meredith should try contacting him next.

When the meeting ended, Parker scooted out quickly.

He saw the look Pamela gave him, and he knew, without attempting to read her mind, that she was wondering about him and Sabrina. He’d talked to her on Sunday, giving her the bottom line on his meeting with Sabrina at her apartment. He hadn’t gone into his feelings for Sabrina; but he knew his twin well enough to know she could read between the lines.

His day was busy, and Mondays he typically worked late. It was 8:30 before his last session ended. He’d been doing a follow-up visit with Cecelia, a patient who had come in after being struck by lightning, and developed the ability to see auras.

He finished his notes, then packed up for the night. He heard Pam, who had stayed late also, saying goodnight to Neal, who was heading out after a long day too. He told them both to have a good evening and left by the back door.

He spent the rest of the night watching TV and doing laundry. Nothing unusual.

But his mind kept going back to Sabrina.
